I went to the Animal Crossing event at the sea life centre and had the best time. I went with my parents and it was the first time we all spent the day out together like that in forever. Love seeing the fishies

I've started to get some motivation for fic writing in the last couple of weeks, so hopefully I'll be able to get something written. I tentatively signed up for the Diagon Alley film fest and I have a couple of ideas for that.

Still no luck on the job hunt, though

I started the month with every intention of getting my shit together. I ended the month having another ocd relapse (milder than the last one, though). I think I'm more prone to them now I'm out of uni and not yet in work because I don't have things to properly occupy my time and thoughts.
I still haven't had any luck on the job front, but I'm hoping to hear back from a company I really like. Its only part time but it would be a start.

I didn’t get any fics written, or much in terms of fandom (I am so disappointed in myself for not doing the snowflake challenge, but I did launch a blog with my partner in crime. We talk about literature and language and pop culture stuff twice a week, and you can check it out HERE if you’re interested.

I graduated! It was a freezing cold day, but in general it was quite fun. I don't *adore* formal situations, but this time I'd made some friends during the degree so it was nice to catch up with them
I went on holiday! Just to the seaside for a couple of days, but it was very nice to get away. We were between two seaside towns (Scarborough and Bridlington) so we spent a day at each
I DIYed some Christmas gifts - i painted some cat figurines to look like Jasper and Clover, and cross stitched a little portrait of my friend's dogs

This month I made the mistake of taking the tram through the city, and I'm currently on my third week of having the plague. Genuinely, a cold usually lasts me 3 days max, but I've been practically bedbound for a fortnight. I even lost the hearing in my left ear for a couple of days - whatever I caught from that trip made its way through my entire respiratory system and left chaos in its wake.

Since I've had the plague, I haven't done a whole lot (I haven't read a single thing all month), but I did manage to buy my graduation dress. I'm also starting to work on adapting one of my essays into a journal article to try and publish that, and I've had a couple of job interviews. I'm also in the process of setting up a blog (co-owned) to make more serious posts about literature and linguistics and the process of university education, mostly for fun, but also to see where it takes us. I'll probably share a link to it when it's fully set up and ready to go.

Maybe December will prove more fruitful

An interesting month to say the least. I don't talk about it often on here, but I have OCD which typically flares up around this time of year, and BOY DID IT. Spent a couple of days in bed and a couple of weeks trying to get myself back to normal - still not amazing, but I managed to get stuff done regardless

I wrote my entire dissertation! I'm currently proofreading and formatting it ready to submit (by Wednesday at the latest, ideally), but I got it all written (a couple hundred shy of 14000 words).
There's not much else I've done this month, since I've been on the dissertation pretty much all day every day. Now it's done with my days will be split between finding a job and writing fic for exchanges I've signed up to (if anyone is looking for an employee with a masters in English hmu)

Its certainly been a month. Topped off with accidentally back buttoning the wrong tab and having to rewrite the roundup all over again (sums up the month tbh)

Uni
I wrote THREE essays, did not think I'd manage them in time but I did. One was on Ophelia and pregnancy, one was blood libel in children's literature, and the last was a study of some UK parish names (being vague because the area was local to me). I also submitted my diss proposal then immediately regretted not going with my original topic, so we'll see how that goes
I set up a notion workspace for the dissertation too, but I'm yet to start working on it so I can't say how successful it is

Once again this month I've done very little, despite being off uni for most of the month. My spring term essays are due in just under two weeks, so I definitely won't be super productive in May either. I'm (still) behind on the sapphic microfic prompts but I'm determined to have them done maybe by the end of May? Maybe June?

I've also been working through the fics I'm britpicking for fandomtrumpshate which has been really fun. I'm doing them both fandom blind and it's actually really interesting to read fics in a universe I'm not really familiar with.

Since I was off uni for a while I let myself read for pleasure. First I went with Horrorstör by Grady Hendrix which I really enjoyed. I don't usually go for horror stuff so I did end up reading it in one sitting, determined to finish it so I didn't have time to marinate on possibilities.
I also (finally) read A Room With A View, initially to see if it would fit with a potential diss topic, but sadly there wasn't quite enough for what I wanted to write on. I still really enjoyed it though, and now I want to rewatch the film

It's becoming a bit predictable, but once again, I've done ... not much

Uni has again been taking up most of my energy, but luckily I'm off for a bit now to work on essays, and when they're done, hopefully to write more fic.

That's it for posted works this month, but I've just today finished my chapter of the Marauders Mayhem discord group murder mystery fic (and I am EAGER to find out who dunnit)
I don't talk about my other writing here, not because I'm ashamed of it or anything, but because there's a solid five that we work on intermittently, that are AUs of AUs of AUs, an absolutely unhinged multiverse that I barely understand never mind explaining it. But I've been working on fic with a new set of characters, and last night we came up with an AU for the characters, so we've been planning that too

In non fic updates, I've been working on a blanket. I put myself on a blanket buying ban near the end of last year, and to get around it, I've been weaving patchwork squares to turn into one. It's quite a good hobby for me because it's so repetitive and unlike cross stitching I don't have to keep referring to a pattern, and I can do it while watching videos. I'm running out of wool though, and I'm only about halfway through size wise, so I'll have to order some more. Once this one is done I'll probably stock up on the less expensive aldi yarn - maybe my family can have home made blankets for Christmas this year.

I only got out of my writing slump this week, uni has really been taking it out of me this semester. Luckily I have this week off to try and catch up on everything I'm behind on

all I've posted this month are my three sentence ficathon fills, and hopefully I'll get through a few more in march. HP saffic microfics is back for two months too, so I'm hopefully going to get back to daily posting those, and I just today finished my blackcest fest submission, so that should be revealed in March.

I'm also helping out with the HP Milf fest, prompting is still open until tomorrow (2nd march) and works are due in May

Not many fics this month but I did write two essays. I feel like I'm slightly out of my fic writing era which is fine, really (Reader, it is not fine at all) but today I heard the song that inspired one of my early fics and it made me want to give it a revamp now that I'm a bit more assured in my style. I'm still trying to prioritise the ideas/WIPs that I already have to finally make a dent in that list, so we'll see what February brings
